PIT SENYOR

prrrt!! prrrrt!! prrrrt!!...Can you hear that with the beat of the drum, people chanting the sinulog song. YES! it was indeed the biggest celebration in Cebu. The feast of Sr. Sto. Nino our child Jesus. Sinulog is the mother of all feast in the Philippines.

Celebrating for 5 years now in my stay here in Cebu. We usually start the day by going to the Basilica to attend the mass and thank the Nino for all the blessings he had given us.

During the mass singing BATO BALANI SA GUGMA I really got teary eyed feeling the child Jesus is within me.

A WALK IN COLON ST. (THE OLDEST STREET IN THE COUNTRY)

From the basilica to reach the downtown area you need to walk in Colon St.. It was an all day walk since streets are blocked of jeepneys. It was fun walking though since you will be seeing lots of people walking, as well and different vendors selling sinulog items. If you want henna tattoo and different art its also their street foods are all over the place. Along the street don't forget to buy the buli hat from lola who's just sitting beside the gutter her hat is only 20php. And just roam your eyes and you will see nice stuff, just like the mask that I only got for 20php got my outfit a boom!!And you might just walk across friends who's having their own Sinulog fever.

Don't miss to eat the best barbeque partnered with puso (hanging rice) and for your drink a free unlimited taste of Dole pinapple juice, that was just great right? .... During this day a lot companies will be endorsing their product . So lets take advantage!!!

Sinulog Mardigras is a very colorful event from extravagan floats, wonderful costumes, gorgeous props. But the best part if it is thededication each dancer has to dance from day till night. A dedication of devotees to show the child Jesus their thanks for a fruitfull and gracious year.

After a tiring day you need to go to relative or friends house sure do, they have a feast at the house with the lechon at the center of the table. hahah

but if you don't have any..You can party later at night where all kinds of liquor are available plus watch the fireworks display. We'll try that definitely next year since we are always in the mardigras kinda celebration for the past years.

Hope you got some glimpse of how filiponos celebrate their feast, our culture and hope you enjoyed reading - ITSMYSTYL
